1. MORNING OUTLOOK




U.S. stocks posted solid gains as Dow rallied for 125 points and
Nasdaq closing above 2,000 for the first time in almost two years,
as expectations for a better economy and corporate profits in 2004
outweighed concerns about the falling dollar. The Dow Jones
Industrial Average edged up 125.33 points, or 1.21 percent, to
10,450.00. The Nasdaq Composite edged up 33.34 points, or 1.69
percent, to 2,006.48 while the Nasdaq 100 Index edged up 26.51
points, or 1.84 percent, to 1470.37. The Standard & Poor's 500
Index edged up 1.24 percent while the Russell 2000 Index of
small-capitalization stocks edged up 1.62 percent. Volume amounted
to 1.04 billion on the NYSE and 1.42 billion on the Nasdaq Stock
Market. Market breadth was positive, with Advancers were leading
Decliners by 2533 to 773 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Advancers were
leading Decliners by 2267 to 969.

Dow gained 125 points to close at 10450. Dow has extended its
overbought condition by rallying above 10400 level. Dow is trading
with positive momentum above 50 and 200-day MA. Trading below
10400 level could invite some sellers while trading above 10500
level could be sign of further strength. DOW's resistance levels
are: 10580, 10715, 10883. DOW's support levels are: 10318, 10188,
10072. Nasdaq gained 33 points to regain 2000 level. Although some
retracement is expected, Nasdaq has good potential to continue its
trend higher in the next few weeks. NASDAQ's resistance levels
are: 2036, 2072, 2102. NASDAQ's support levels are: 1984, 1954,

support levels are: 1984, 1954, 1939. Tuesday's trading could be
cautious and choppy.
