1. MORNING OUTLOOK




U.S. stocks posted solid gains at their best levels since mid-2001
Wednesday after Alan Greenspan said he saw no urgency to raise
interest rates. Blue chips were further boosted by Comcast's $66
billion bid for Walt Disney, a Dow Jones Industrial Average
component. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 123.85 points, or
1.17 percent, to 10,737.70. The Nasdaq Composite lost 1.09 points,
or 0.69 percent, to 2,089.66 while the Nasdaq 100 Index rose 13.89
points, or 0.93 percent, to 1514.18. The Standard & Poor's 500
Index rose 1.07 percent while the Russell 2000 Index of
small-capitalization stocks rose 0.72 percent. Volume amounted to
1.70 billion on the NYSE and 2.20 billion on the Nasdaq Stock
Market. Market breadth was positive, with Advancers were leading
Decliners by 2302 to 979 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Advancers were
leading Decliners by 1921 to 1280.

Dow gained 124 points to close at 10737. Dow is trading with
positive momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Dow broke out of its
trading channel (10350-10650) and trading with solid momentum.
Although some profit taking is possible, Dow could continue
trading higher in the next few sessions. Watch 10780 level for
potential breakout and 10700 for breakdown levels. DOW's
resistance levels are: 10871, 11010, 11182. DOW's support levels
are: 10602, 10468, 10349. Nasdaq gained 14 points to close at
2089. Nasdaq is trading with positive momentum and trading above
key technical levels. Nasdaq appears to regain its strength and
could see additional momentum on the upside. NASDAQ's resistance
levels are: 2121, 2180, 2215. NASDAQ's support levels are: 2078,
2056, 2029. Thursday's trading could be cautious and active.
