Kevin Kuykendall, MobilePro's group president for voice services, said,
"As part of our new voice strategy, we are looking to expand our local and
long distance capabilities in the second and third tier markets while adding
to our subscriber base in unique and defensible niches. We believe we
accomplish both goals with this acquisition. Affinity Telecom has, in our
view, a highly effective marketing model that seeks rapid growth and efficient
customer acquisition through its 'Affinity Partners' program, which includes
the American Red Cross and the Special Olympics. These relationships, combined
with MobilePro's financial capabilities, geographical reach and broad new
product offerings, make for an exciting blend."
Yianni Kopanakis, CEO of Affinity Telecom, said, "We have over 60 Affinity
Partners including faith-based organizations, school districts, large non-
profit organizations and business consortiums. The affinity program concept is
not new, but we believe our relationships with the American Red Cross and
Special Olympics are unique and can be extended across the country. We feel
that we have built a platform that makes for efficient customer acquisition,
increased customer retention and rapid growth. This model was proven in
Michigan and we look forward to increasing the product offering and
geographical reach of our programs as a part of Mobile Pro."
