Vote on whether or not to cancel some consumer loans. Opponents said that cancelling loans would set a bad precedent, would encourage consumption, and would not be fair. The minister of finance said that the cancellation of loans would cost the treasury around 7.9 billion dinar (around $27 billion). Supporters said that many Kuwaiti families are endebted, face court hearings, and need relief.
