DUST STORM WARNING IN KUWAIT
According to NASA weather forecast/Satellite Images, Kuwait/ Gulf region expected to be exposing an intensive DUST STORM combined with a high winds during the coming 72 hours. It is expected to result in widespread blowing dust that could pose safety and health risks.
To protect yourself during this high wind advisory, it is extremely important that travel with caution and that persons with respiratory problems or heart conditions should make preparations to stay indoors until the storm passes. Monitor family members and those around you who are at greatest risk from exposure, such as seniors, young children and people with underlying illnesses or chronic conditions.
Health Tips:
· Avoid outdoor activity. If you must go outside, spend as little time outside as possible.
· Avoid vigorous exercise, especially if you have asthma, or a breathing related condition.
· Travel with caution and check road conditions before departing.
· Stay indoors as much as possible, with windows and doors closed.
· Visibility deteriorates very quickly during a dust storm. If you are on the road and your ability to drive safely is impaired by poor visibility, reduce your speed.
· Be prepared to pull off the road if visibility deteriorates to less than 100m.
· If your car is air-conditioned, reduce the amount of dust entering your car by switching the air intake to ‘recirculation’.
· Wear a mask to filter out small particulates.
