Napster Inc
Napster Inc (Nasdaq: NAPS)
spikes mid-day. The spike is related to a rumor Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is gearing up to aggressively go after Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iTunes. Many see NAPS as the best way.

Apple
Reports from AppleInsider.com
"Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ), which recently entered into a strategic
alliance with Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) to deliver HP-branded versions of the iPod under name 'iPod+ HP', has stopped placing orders for the digital music players with Apple Computer, AppleInsider has learned.
Hewlett-Packard is reportedly quarreling with Apple over a lack of price protection offered with the iPods it manufacturers through the Mac maker, possibly explaining why the two companies have yet to set a date for the rollout of the HP- branded iPod photo."

Taser
According to reports from The Arizona Republic, the Maricopa County medical examiner says shocks from a Taser (Nasdaq: TASR) stun gun contributed to the death of a man in Mesa, marking the 12th case nationwide linked to the weapon.
According to the paper, Milton Salazar, 29, of Flagstaff, died July 23, two days after a struggle with Mesa police officers attempting to arrest him for throwing candy at a store clerk. He was shocked twice during the scuffle. (link: http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/art icles/0114taser14.html)

Akamai Technologies
Hearing Akamai Technologies (Nasdaq: AKAM)
could benefit from Apple Computers' (Nasdaq: AAPL) strong Ipod sales.
According to the Jefferies analysts, AAPL is a key customer for AKAM and the company is positioned to benefit from increased download activity from the Apple iTune service.

Note* - While shares of AAPL and its partners have been flying higher the past few months, AKAM has been drifting lower; so it appears momo players have not been putting the connection together. This note from Jefferies should help.
