ATVI Activision beats by $0.02, issues downside Q3, Q4 and FY06 guidance (16.81 +0.62)
Reports Q2 (Sep) loss of $0.05 per share, $0.02 better than the Reuters Estimates consensus of ($0.07). Co issues downside guidance for Q3 (Dec), sees EPS of $0.52 vs. $0.53 consensus; reaffirms Q3 (Dec) revs of $790.00 mln vs. $799.73 mln consensus. Co issues downside guidance for FY06 (Mar), sees EPS of $0.52 vs. $0.54 consensus; raises FY06 (Mar) revs to $1.48 bln vs. $1.49 bln consensus. For the Q4, Activision expects Q4 EPS of $0.05 vs $0.08 consensus, net revenues of $226 mln vs $243.7 mln consensus. "Our second quarter revenues and earnings exceeded our expectations, despite having difficult year-over-year comparables. To date, seven of our games have shipped more than one million units each. We remain focused on big propositions and in the third quarter will release the strongest holiday slate in our history. We are optimistic about our holiday titles, although we remain cautious of the many variables that can affect the holiday selling season and our own performance."
