The news boosts the stock 16 cents or 2.63% to $6.25. Today's action may not capure many investor's attention yet if you look at the one year chart you should see that the stock actually has been doing quite well this year. Let's take a detail look at the technical chart and see why the stock can still be going much higher:
First the stock price - in early January the stock surged above both 50 day and 200 day moving average. Before that the stock had been trading below both moving average for a year after the stock first drop below 50 day moving average last January. When the stock goes above both 50 day and 200 day moving average, pontential rally usually may follow.
Second we check the moving average - around mid January the 50 day moving average crossed on top over 200 day moving average and formed Golden Cross, a very bullish sign. Most stocks with Golden Cross formed would take off from that point and in the case of BRCD the stock went flying from $4 per share to $6 per share today gaining around 50%.
Third we check MACD - from the MACD chart you should see that the MACD line rose above 0 in the beginning of January and has stayed barely above 0 till now. MACD above 0 typically means the stock is in the bull market.
