Motorola iRadio(R): New Additions Speak Volumes
More than music: MediaBay's audio books and classic radio episodes and AccuWeather.com's up-to-date weather for over 100 US cities
LAS VEGAS, April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Expanding its library of music and talk channels, Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today added thousands of hours of audio book content, classic radio programming, and local weather forecasts to its already staggering pool of 435 commercial-free iRadio music channels. These additions validate iRadio's status as one of the most comprehensive subscription entertainment services available, putting a world of audio choice at listeners' fingertips.

The announcement was made at the CTIA Wireless 2006 Trade Show (5-7 April, Las Vegas Convention Center) where Motorola is demonstrating iRadio at Stand #2606.

In addition to personal music collections and iRadio's expansive radio programming, listeners can now choose best selling audio book content, educational and language courses, audio newspapers, self help programs, and local information to travel with them on the one device they're never without: their mobile phone.

As Motorola iRadio ushers in a new age of radio, it pays homage to its roots. A wealth of classic radio programming such as The Lone Ranger and The Shadow re-introduce radio favorites of 'yesteryear' to mainstream audiences and complement iRadio's modern programming.

AccuWeather.com will provide forecasts for over 100 US cities, adding essential local information to listeners' daily lives, and strengthening iRadio's personal connection.

'The addition of spoken word content provides iRadio listeners with the ability to change their listening experience based on their moods and even the weather,' said Jeff Stinson, senior director, Motorola Digital Media Services. 'These agreements expand the already vast library of content available to iRadio subscribers and demonstrate our commitment to providing a deeply comprehensive and innovative radio service.'

Motorola iRadio is the first digital music service to offer a truly seamless listening experience -- with audio that seamlessly transitions from one location to the next via Bluetooth -- without losing audio quality or missing a beat. Motorola iRadio also introduced new ways for discovering and acquiring new music.

Audio Book and Classic Radio content will be provided by MediaBay Inc. (Nasdaq: MBAY). Local weather forecasts will be provided by AccuWeather.com.

'We look forward to introducing Motorola iRadio listeners to MediaBay's high-quality audio content,' said MediaBay CEO Jeffrey Dittus. 'Motorola iRadio presents an exciting opportunity for the distribution of audio book and classic radio content, and we look forward to exploring the potential this new delivery medium holds for MediaBay.'

'As an integral part of the radio listening experience, AccuWeather forecasts are a perfect complement to Motorola's iRadio service,' said Jim Candor, AccuWeather.com Senior Vice President of New Media. 'We are excited to provide local weather information to iRadio listeners to keep them safe and informed.'
