RIMM Research In Motion: Going after the consumer too – Pearl to be a big winner; increasing EPS to Street high $4.65 and tgt to $120 (80.42 ) -Update-
AmTech says RIMM remains among their top picks and would encourage investors to be aggressive in building positions now despite the recent move. Firm believes there is still substantial upside in this stock. Firm believes their Street high $4.65 is very achievable and Street numbers are very likely to start moving towards their est when RIMM issues guidance for next quarter on their earnings call two weeks from Thursday. Firm says RIMM benefits from both strong demand on the corporate side and are now about to see a component of consumer exposure with the launch of its new critically-acclaimed Pearl. Firm believes the Pearl will compare well with any new cellphone. Firm's Pearl forecast assumes only an incremental 450k low-end units in 2H over 1H, spread across all of RIMM's carrier partners. Firm says the leverage and upside potential is apparent to them. If firm is right and the Pearl takes hold in the consumer segment, there is potentially significant upside to their street-high forecast and believe the stock could see a 30x multiple or higher depending upon the market backdrop. Firm reiterates their Buy on RIMM and $120 tgt and again encourage investors to buy RIMM here and now.
