EFUT eFuture: color on huge momentum name (39.19 +9.70) -Update-
eFuture appears to be the hot momentum stock of the moment, so we thought we'd provide some background. It's a recent, tiny IPO that priced 1.1 mln shares at $6 per share (stock up 550% from offering price). The co is a provider of software in China's supply chain front market. Customers include manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers throughout China. Its software is used to optimize the operations of businesses in a wide variety of industries. The co posted just $4.9 mln in revenue in 2005, up 13% yr/yr, however it is profitable with 15% operating margin... The co says it's the first Chinese software company listed on the Nasdaq Capital market and the first software company in the front supply chain market. Note: Clearly the name is speculative because it's so small and the co seems a bit promotional to us in their press releases. Also, in its prospectus, the co has identified a "significant deficiency" in internal control over its financial reporting, primarily related to recording advances from its customers. Also, the lead underwriter, Anderson & Strudwick, is a name we're not familiar with... Not in love with it fundamentally, but the momentum crowd is attracted to the small float of 1.1 mln shares so we thought we'd provide some background.
