1. MORNING OUTLOOK



Pre-market futures are lower and suggesting that markets may open
flat to lower. European stocks turned lower on Monday as some key
financial stocks eased and as the tech sector gave back some of last
week's strong gains. Japanese stocks declined Monday morning as
the yen's recent strength against the dollar continued to hit key
exporters including Toyota Motor and Canon.



U.S. stocks closed in the red Friday, paring early gains as falling
drug and financial stocks supplanted upbeat revenue news from
Intel. U.S. stocks reversed its positive trading as the major
indexes turned in another positive weekly performance, with the
Dow industrials up three consecutive weeks and the Nasdaq and S&P
500 extending their winning stretch to two. The Dow Jones
Industrial Average lost 74.81 points, or 0.79 percent, to
9,348.87. The Nasdaq Composite lost 12.23 points, or 0.69 percent,
to 1,765.32 while the Nasdaq 100 Index lost 10.11 points, or 0.78
percent, to 1304.54. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index lost 1.02
percent while the Russell 2000 Index of small-capitalization
stocks lost 1.96 percent. Volume amounted to 1.29 billion on the
NYSE and 1.71 billion on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Market breadth
was negative, with Decliners were leading Advancers by 2235 to
1017 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Decliners were leading Advancers by
2109 to 1064.

Dow lost 74.8 points to close at 9348. Dow is trading with positive
momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Dow posted a key reversal day
and appears to be setting up for retracement in the next few
sessions. Watch 9400 level for continuation of previous trend
trading below 9300 may bring further selling. DOW's resistance
levels are: 9465, 9586, 9736. DOW's support levels are: 9231,
9114, 9010. Nasdaq lost 12.24 points to close at 1765.3. Nasdaq is
trading with positive momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Nasdaq
also could some more retracement in the next few sessions.
NASDAQ's resistance levels are: 1821, 1887, 1908. NASDAQ's support
levels are: 1746, 1716, 1693. Monday's trading could be cautious
and choppy.
