1. MORNING OUTLOOK

Pre-market futures are higher and suggesting that markets may open
flat to higher. European markets were off to a mixed start to the week,
as an upgrade of Deutsche Bank lifted the German market but well-received
results at Lagardere and Air Liquide were offset by broad-based selling in
France. Tokyo stocks edged down in late afternoon trade Monday due
to Wall Street's skid on Friday as caution set in ahead of key Japanese
economic data later this week.


U.S. stocks ended in the red Friday as news that the economy shed
more jobs last month put a damper on investors' recent enthusiasm.
The S&P broke an eight-day winning streak and the Nasdaq a
seven-day stretch of gains. Benchmark Treasury yields tumbled to
their lowest level in about three weeks. The Dow Jones Industrial
Average lost 84.56 points, or 0.88 percent, to 9,503.34. The
Nasdaq Composite lost 10.73 points, or 0.57 percent, to 1,858.24
while the Nasdaq 100 Index lost 11.36 points, or 0.84 percent, to
1361.90. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index lost 0.64 percent while
the Russell 2000 Index of small-capitalization stocks lost 0.73
percent. Volume amounted to 1.44 billion on the NYSE and 1.96
billion on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Market breadth was negative,
with Decliners were leading Advancers by 1785 to 1463 on the NYSE.
Nasdaq's Decliners were leading Advancers by 1780 to 1409.

Dow lost 84.5 points to close at 9503. Dow is trading with positive
momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Dow appears to be in retreat
mode from overbought conditions and could see some consolidation
before heading higher in the next few weeks. Watch 9400 level for
potential pullback and 9575 are for continuing strength. DOW's
resistance levels are: 9621, 9745, 9897. DOW's support levels are:
9384, 9265, 9159. Nasdaq lost 10.8 points to close at 1858. Nasdaq
is still trading in overbought condition and could see further
pullback. Nasdaq also has good potential to head higher in the
next few weeks to test 2000 level by the year-end. NASDAQ's
resistance levels are: 1901, 1955, 1976. NASDAQ's support levels
are: 1826, 1783, 1760. Monday's trading could be cautious and
choppy.
