1. MORNING OUTLOOK


Pre-market futures are higher and suggesting that markets may open
flat to higher. Philips Electronics on Friday boosted guidance in its
semiconductor division and said it could return to profitability by the
end of the year, which along with overnight gains helped to raise most
European markets. Tokyo stocks halted a two-day slide Friday on the
back of Wall Street's rebound and gains for Toyota and other companies
that benefit from an economic recovery.


U.S. posted gains Thursday, halting a two-day losing streak, as
investors snapped up retail, airline and technology shares while
brushing off fresh evidence that labor market conditions remain
soft. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 39.3 points, or
0.42 percent, to 9,459.76. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 22.28
points, or 1.22 percent, to 1,846.09 while the Nasdaq 100 Index
climbed 18.52 points, or 1.39 percent, to 1350.80. The Standard &
Poor's 500 Index climbed 0.54 percent while the Russell 2000 Index
of small-capitalization stocks climbed 1.13 percent. Volume
amounted to 1.30 billion on the NYSE and 1.76 billion on the
Nasdaq Stock Market. Market breadth was positive, with Advancers
were leading Decliners by 2150 to 1103 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's
Advancers were leading Decliners by 2070 to 1086.

Dow gained 39 points to close at 9459. Dow is trading with
positive momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Dow appears to be
picking its upward momentum and a trading and closing above 9510
would signal further upside while closing below 9400 may show
weakness. DOW is trading with positive momentum. DOW's resistance
levels are: 9577, 9700, 9851. DOW's support levels are: 9341,
9222, 9117. Nasdaq is showing strong momentum and could continue
further higher in the next few weeks. NASDAQ's resistance levels
are: 1896, 1955, 1973. NASDAQ's support levels are: 1829, 1803,
1783. Friday's trading could be cautious and active.
