1. MORNING OUTLOOK
Pre-market futures are higher and suggesting that markets may open
flat to higher. European markets rose on Wednesday, beginning to claw
back losses from currency turbulence. Technology companies and insurers
led movers, and the auto sector, which has been particularly battered, also
saw slight gains. Tokyo's key benchmark ended slightly higher Wednesday
as investors parked their money in the drug sector and weathered a stronger
yen that continued to send automakers and other currency-sensitive stocks falling.
U.S. stocks posted gains Tuesday, as Wall Street turned its
attention back to corporate earnings and concerns about a weaker
dollar started to ebb. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed
40.63 points, or 0.43 percent, to 9,576.04. The Nasdaq Composite
climbed 27.1 points, or 1.45 percent, to 1,901.72 while the Nasdaq
100 Index climbed 21.83 points, or 1.6 percent, to 1388.15. The
Standard & Poor's 500 Index climbed 0.61 percent while the Russell
2000 Index of small-capitalization stocks climbed 1.11 percent.
Volume amounted to 1.30 billion on the NYSE and 1.88 billion on
the Nasdaq Stock Market. Market breadth was positive, with
Advancers were leading Decliners by 2043 to 1199 on the NYSE.
Nasdaq's Advancers were leading Decliners by 2013 to 1198.
Dow gained 40 points to close at 9576. Dow is trading with positive
momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Dow is still trading below key
resistance level 9600 and trading above 9600 could ignite further
rally. 9500 level could act as support in the near term. DOW's
resistance levels are: 9695, 9819, 9972. DOW's support levels are:
9455, 9336, 9229. Nasdaq gained 27 points to close at 1901. Nasdaq
