1. MORNING OUTLOOK

Pre-market futures are higher and suggesting that markets may open
flat to higher. European markets on Thursday declined from the aftermath
of the OPEC oil cartel's surprise decision overnight to cut production.
Japanese stocks plunged more than 2 percent Thursday as investors were
discouraged by Wall Street's tumble overnight on OPEC's surprise decision
to cut oil production. The dollar was higher against the yen.


U.S. stocks posted massive losses Wednesday, with the Dow Jones
Industrial average falling 150 points amid rising oil prices and
increasing concerns over third quarter earnings. The Dow Jones
Industrial Average lost 150.53 points, or 1.57 percent, to
9,425.51. The Nasdaq Composite lost 58.02 points, or 3.05 percent,
to 1,843.70 while the Nasdaq 100 Index lost 48.51 points, or 3.76
percent, to 1339.64. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index lost 1.91
percent while the Russell 2000 Index of small-capitalization
stocks lost 2.32 percent. Volume amounted to 1.54 billion on the
NYSE and 2.22 billion on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Market breadth
was negative, with Decliners were leading Advancers by 2163 to
1102 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Decliners were leading Advancers by
2236 to 971.

Dow lost 150 points to close at 9425. Dow gave in the key support
level near 9500 and appearing very weak. Dow needs to regain its
trading channel above 9500 for its positive trend to continue.
Watch 9500 level for strength and 9375 level for further weakness.
DOW's resistance levels are: 9542, 9665, 9816. DOW's support
levels are: 9307, 9189, 9084. Nasdaq lost 58 points to close at
1843. Nasdaq also appears to be weak and could see further
weakness in the next few sessions. . NASDAQ's resistance levels
are: 1855, 1872, 1895. NASDAQ's support levels are: 1831, 1808,
1790. Thursday's trading could be cautious and choppy.
