1. MORNING OUTLOOK

Pre-market futures are higher and suggesting that markets may open
flat to higher. A weakening euro, which helps exports, and a German tax
law change helped boost European markets on Monday. Asian markets
were mixed Monday as investors took their cue from their home markets
with Tokyo shutting down for a holiday and investors bracing for a flood
of earnings in the U.S. and the region this week.

U.S. indexes posted mixed gains Friday, as the Nasdaq celebrated the
first birthday of a new bull market with a modest gain, while weak
earnings from Dow component GE rained on the blue-chip party. The
Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 5.33 points, or 0.06 percent, to
9,674.68. The Nasdaq Composite rose 3.41 points, or 0.18 percent,
to 1,915.31 while the Nasdaq 100 Index rose 7.92 points, or 0.57
percent, to 1404.87. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index lost 0.06
percent while the Russell 2000 Index of small-capitalization
stocks lost 0.44 percent. Volume amounted to 1.10 billion on the
NYSE and 1.47 billion on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Market breadth
was mixed, with Advancers were leading Decliners by 1766 to 1460
on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Decliners were leading Advancers by 1693 to
1475.

Dow lost 5 points to close at 9674. Dow is trading with positive
momentum above key support level (9600). Dow is also trading above
50 and 200-Day MA. Dow appears to be at a critical level and
trading below 9600 could signal a major reversal and may trend
lower. Trading above 9725 could be positive and could push Dow
near 10000 level in the next few weeks. DOW's resistance levels
are: 9795, 9920, 10075. DOW's support levels are: 9553, 9432,
9324. Nasdaq gained 3.4 points to close at 1915. Nasdaq is trading
with positive momentum and could continue its slow ascend in the
next few weeks. NASDAQ's resistance levels are: 1955, 2004, 2022.
NASDAQ's support levels are: 1888, 1851, 1830. Monday's trading
could be cautious and choppy.
