1. MORNING OUTLOOK

Pre-market futures are lower and suggesting that markets may open
flat to lower. European markets on Wednesday reflected weakness in
U.S. stock market trades, with Adidas lower after still reporting difficulty
in the highly competitive North American apparel market. Tokyo stocks
fell just short of a major rebound Wednesday as many technology issues
recovered and automakers pared losses ahead of Toyota's earnings
while the dollar steadied against the yen after a couple of days of wild
fluctuations.


U.S. stocks posted modest losses as the major U.S. equity indexes
fell Tuesday, giving back a small measure of recent advances that
had them opening the session at 2003. highs. The Dow Jones
Industrial Average lost 19.63 points, or 0.20 percent, to
9,838.83. The Nasdaq Composite lost 9.74 points, or 0.49 percent,
to 1,957.96 while the Nasdaq 100 Index lost 13.75 points, or 0.97
percent, to 1429.38. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index lost 0.54
percent while the Russell 2000 Index of small-capitalization
stocks climbed 0.19 percent. Volume amounted to 1.38 billion on
the NYSE and 2.11 billion on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Market
breadth was mixed, with Advancers were leading Decliners by 1711
to 1558 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Decliners were leading Advancers by
1572 to 1568.

Dow lost 19.6 points to close at 9838. Dow is trading with positive
momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Dow is trading in a
consolidation pattern and the downward slope indicates a potential
breakout once it is traded above 9875 area. Trading below key
support level 9800 could be negative. DOW's resistance levels are:
9961, 10089, 10246. DOW's support levels are: 9715, 9592, 9483.
Nasdaq lost 9.73 points to close at 1958. Nasdaq is trading with
positive momentum and could follow Dow's trading pattern in the
next few sessions. NASDAQ's resistance levels are: 1989, 2028,
2043. NASDAQ's support levels are: 1932, 1898, 1881. Wednesday's
trading could be cautious and active.
