1. MORNING OUTLOOK

Pre-market futures are lower and suggesting that markets may
open flat to lower. Consensus-topping earnings at two of Europe's
largest companies, Siemens and Deutsche Telekom, plus a stronger
U.S. overnight helped charge up European stocks on Thursday. Tokyo's
key benchmark rose Thursday as technology stocks rallied on the
Nasdaq's gains and a bullish outlook for a U.S. semiconductor leader
while banks kept their firm tone despite the government's denial
of another bailout.





U.S. stocks posted solid gains Wednesday amid broad buying in the
blue chips and strong interest in the technology sector. The Dow
Jones Industrial Average gained 111.04 points, or 1.14 percent, to
9,848.83. The Nasdaq Composite gained 42.36 points, or 2.19
percent, to 1,973.11 while the Nasdaq 100 Index gained 33.88
points, or 2.4 percent, to 1443.52. The Standard & Poor's 500
Index gained 1.14 percent while the Russell 2000 Index of
small-capitalization stocks gained 2.29 percent. Volume amounted
to 1.32 billion on the NYSE and 1.88 billion on the Nasdaq Stock
Market. Market breadth was positive, with Advancers were leading
Decliners by 2513 to 759 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Advancers were
leading Decliners by 2405 to 812.

Dow gained 111 points to close at 9848. Dow is trading with positve
momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Dow's today's trend is little
short of previous high but could be signalling more strength in
the near term. Watch 9900 level for potential breakout and 9800
for further support. DOW's resistance levels are: 9971, 10099,
10257. DOW's support levels are: 9725, 9602, 9492. Nasdaq gained
42 points to close at 1973. Nasdaq is trading with positive
momoentum and could see further sterngth in the next few weeks.
NASDAQ's resistance levels are: 2011, 2058, 2076. NASDAQ's support
levels are: 1945, 1908, 1888. Thursday's trading could be cautious
and choppy.
