1. MORNING OUTLOOK
U.S. stocks posted modest losses as investors searched for direction
in the wake of the Federal Reserve's decision to leave interest
rates alone. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 1.56 points, or
0.02 percent, to 9,921.86. The Nasdaq Composite lost 3.67 points,
or 0.19 percent, to 1,904.65 while the Nasdaq 100 Index climbed
5.30 points, or 0.38 percent, to 1388.96. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index lost 0.11 percent while the Russell 2000 Index of
small-capitalization stocks lost 1.16 percent. Volume amounted to
1.40 billion on the NYSE and 1.96 billion on the Nasdaq Stock
Market. Market breadth was negative, with Decliners were leading
Advancers by 2025 to 1277 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Decliners were
leading Advancers by 2098 to 1073.
Dow lost 1.5 points to close at 9921. Dow is trading with positive
momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Todays' Dow's late rebound
suggests a potential for higher move tomorrow if it breaks above
the trendline 9950 level. Watch 9875 level for potential
breakdown. DOW's resistance levels are: 10045, 10174, 10333. DOW's
support levels are: 9797, 9673, 9563. Nasdaq lost 3.6 points to
close at 1904. Nasdaq is trading with negative momentum below
50-day MA. Nasdaq is trading near the lower end of trend channel
and could see a potential bounce in the next few sessions.
NASDAQ's resistance levels are: 1915, 1932, 1946. NASDAQ's support
levels are: 1877, 1840, 1824. Thursday's trading could be cautious
and active.
