1. MORNING OUTLOOK




U.S. stocks posted mixed gains Wednesday as Citigroup and J.P.
Morgan Chase led a broad rally in blue chips, while earnings
concerns in the semiconductor sector and a pullback in networking,
telecom and computer stocks weighed on the Nasdaq Composite. The
Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 94.96 points, or 0.90
percent, to 10,623.62. The Nasdaq Composite edged down 5.53
points, or 0.26 percent, to 2,142.45 while the Nasdaq 100 Index
edged down 6.27 points, or 0.41 percent, to 1546.60. The Standard
& Poor's 500 Index edged up 0.78 percent while the Russell 2000
Index of small-capitalization stocks edged down 0.08 percent.
Volume amounted to 1.76 billion on the NYSE and 2.44 billion on
the Nasdaq Stock Market. Market breadth was mixed, with Advancers
were leading Decliners by 2071 to 1218 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's
Decliners were leading Advancers by 1688 to 1518.

Dow gained 95 points to close at 10623. Dow is trading with positive
momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Dow appears to be picking up its
previous trend as it trades above key support level 10600. Trading
above 10670 would signal further strength while trading below
10575 could be negative. DOW's resistance levels are: 10755,
10893, 11063. DOW's support levels are: 10490, 10357, 10239.
Nasdaq lost 5.5 points to close at 2142. Nasdaq is trading with
positive momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Nasdaq is still trading
in overbought condition and a minor pullback is expected from this
overbought condition. NASDAQ's resistance levels are: 2175, 2217,
2235. NASDAQ's support levels are: 2108, 2064, 2044. NASDAQ is
trading with positive momentum. NASDAQ's resistance levels are:
2175, 2217, 2235. NASDAQ's support levels are: 2108, 2064, 2044.
Thursdays' trading could be cautious and choppy.
