HEADLINE STOCKS - U.S. stocks to watch on August 23

NEW YORK, Aug 23 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks to watch:
ARTISAN COMPONENTS INC (ARTI)
British semiconductor designer ARM Holdings Plc agreed to buy U.S. technology firm Artisan for $913 million, to boost its product range, but ARM shares slumped on Monday on concerns it had overpaid. Artisan shares ended at $23.88 on Nasdaq on Friday.
MOTOROLA INC. (MOT)
Motrola is in talks with NTT DoCoMo Inc. to provide its third-generation handsets to the Japanese wireless operator, a source close to the matter said on Monday, in a move aimed at prying open a market largely closed to foreign manufacturers. Motorola shares closed at $16.05 on the NYSE.
MONSTER WORLDWIDE INC.(MNST),
Monster, parent of employment Web site Monster.com, could become a takeover target, despite its largest shareholder and chief executive's dismissal of the idea, according to Barron's business weekly. Monster shares closed at $19.43 on Nasdaq.
GOOGLE INC. (GOOG)
More than 10 times the amount of Google Inc.'s (GOOG) 25 million share initial public offering could hit the public market over the next six months as various lock-ups on stocks expire, Barron's said in its Aug. 23 edition. The stock closed at $108.31 on Nasdaq. REUTERS
