Gaming stocks have been strong of late on a combination of consolidation in the sector, strong results from casinos and the daily broadcasts of poker tournaments on television. Recent price action in WPT Enterprises (WPTE +15.5%, see 11:22 comment), also indicates emerging investor interest in this space. In this regard, CryptoLogic is a name worth adding to the radar. It is the world's largest public online gaming software developer. Through its WagerLogic subsidiary, the co's Internet poker software continues to power one of the top five highest revenue-generating poker rooms on the Internet. Earnings results have been impressive as Q3 revs were up 43% yoy to $15.6 mln even though Q3 is typically the slowest season of the year for online gaming. The co is profitable with earnings rising 32% to $2.9 mln or $0.21 per share. The balance sheet is strong with no debt and cash/inv of $77.1 mln or $5.68 per share. As a result, the co recently raised its annual dividend by 67% to $0.20 from $0.12. The recent trend for traders is to find high growth small float names. That qualifies here with a 1.3 mln share float, however, CRYP's balance sheet is much more solid than most. Mkt cap $294 mln, avg volume 67K.
