(GTI) Subsidiary Awarded Task Order by U.S. Social Security Administration

Richard R. Patton Assumes Role as GTI's New President


DELRAY BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 2005--Applied Digital (NASDAQ: ADSX - News), a leading provider of security and identification technology, announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary Government Telecommunications, Inc. (GTI) was awarded a $1 million Task Order by the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) Office of Acquisition and Grants. The order is for encrypted, high speed wireless links between SSA's buildings on its Woodlawn (Baltimore, MD) campus. Task Order performance will begin immediately and will be completed in approximately three months, the company said.
Rich Patton, newly-appointed President of GTI, commented, "GTI is particularly pleased with this task award because it marks an expansion of our service offerings. This Task Order ensures that all SSA current wireless gigabit links on the Baltimore campus are encrypted to the most stringent government standards. The SSA high speed wireless network will also be expanded to six additional high speed encrypted links. Mr. Patton joined the company on Tuesday, May 24th as the new President of GTI. Mr. Patton is a 23-year telecommunications industry veteran who has most recently been involved with development-stage companies focused on the Homeland Security marketplace. Mr. Patton began his telecommunications career in 1978 at AT&T Bell Labs and has held management positions in Operations, New Product Development, Business Development, Product Management and Strategic Planning.
