Isonics Corporation (Nasdaq:ISON), committed to the development of
next-generation technology for the homeland security and semiconductor markets,
has provided additional insight into its EnviroSecure(TM) building monitoring
system.
EnviroSecure(TM) is a detection system that employs a "sniffer" technology
that continuously monitors the air in buildings such as airports, mass transit
facilities, indoor sports venues, and public and private sector office
buildings. EnviroSecure(TM) is capable of monitoring for the range of
traditional chemical warfare agents such as Sarin, VX, Tabun, Soman, chlorine,
Phosgene, and hydrogen cyanide.
Isonics' EnviroSecure(TM) system is designed to be integrated into a
building's infrastructure, much like centralized fire alarm or security alarm
systems. EnviroSecure(TM) would warn officials of a possible attack and first
responder teams could be dispatched in a matter of minutes. EnviroSecure(TM) is
a "smart" system that can be "trained" to recognize essentially any volatile
compound and to classify each as harmful or benign, based on
application-specific requirements.
The system samples the air at strategic locations located throughout the
building and delivers the sampled air to an analysis unit. One or more
EnviroSecure(TM) analysis units would be employed within a structure, depending
on size and design parameters for the particular installation. Each analysis
unit provides rapid analysis of the ambient air coming in from up to sixteen
air sampling points.
Available now in the U.S., the system is scalable from a basic installation
with a single analysis unit up to a major structure consisting of several
million square feet, such as a large shopping mall or an entire municipal
subway system.
Depending on the capabilities required and degree of customization, design
and installation of an EnviroSecure(TM) system for a basic installation, using
one analysis unit, could be accomplished for approximately $100,000.
