RE: Margin Requirements Change
Dear Valued Client,
TD AMERITRADE is changing some of the maintenance requirements that determine how much equity must be held in your account to fulfill margin requirements. These changes are effective as of November 21, 2006.
Overall Maintenance Requirement You will now have reduced maintenance requirements for marginable securities priced at or below $4.00 that are held in your account:
Price Per Share Maintenance Requirement
$0.01 - $1.99 100%
$2.00 - $4.00 $2.00/Share
$4.01 and above 30%
Maintenance requirements for securities sold short are not changing.
The maintenance requirement is changing for concentrated positions of 70% or more. A concentrated position occurs when the market value of a single position is greater than the total equity in your account AND it is 70% or more of the total value in your account. When this occurs, the following maintenance requirements apply:

Uncovered Options Position Maintenance Requirement
If you are approved to trade uncovered options*, you'll also have a lowered maintenance requirement for uncovered options positions. The new percentage used to calculate these requirements are as follows:
Uncovered Equity Options 25% of underlying stock value
Uncovered Narrow Based Index options 20% of underlying index value
Uncovered Broad Based Index options 15% of underlying index value
Also, the threshold for issuing maintenance calls is now $1,000** and we are reducing the maintenance requirements for Fixed-Income positions. For more information, please review the attached Margin Handbook.
