1. MORNING OUTLOOK

Pre-market futures are higher and suggesting that markets may open
flat to higher. European markets saw strong gains behind a weakening
euro, improving chip stocks and a German tax law change in thin trading
Monday. Tokyo's key benchmark ended solidly higher Tuesday and even
briefly broke through the 11,000 level for the first time in almost a month
as rising economic optimism from both sides of the Pacific spurred lofty
gains for technology and banking stocks.


U.S. stock indexes posted solid gains Monday as Honeywell led the
Dow Jones Industrial Average higher and technology issues got a
lift from Motorola's surprising report of strong earnings. The Dow
Jones Industrial Average added 89.7 points, or 0.93 percent, to
9,764.38. The Nasdaq Composite added 18.22 points, or 0.95
percent, to 1,933.53 while the Nasdaq 100 Index added 9.85 points,
or 0.7 percent, to 1414.72. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index added
0.70 percent while the Russell 2000 Index of small-capitalization
stocks added 1.64 percent. Volume amounted to 1.03 billion on the
NYSE and 1.50 billion on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Market breadth
was positive, with Advancers were leading Decliners by 2305 to 915
on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Advancers were leading Decliners by 2205 to
977.

Dow gained 89 points to close at 9764. Dow is trading with positive
momentum above 50 and 200-Day MA. Dow is trending in positive
trend channel and has a good potential to test the top end of its
trading target 10000 in the next few weeks. Dow also has some
resistance near 9820 area as it nears overbought condition. Watch
9700 level for potential breakdown and 9820 level for breakout.
DOW is trading with positive momentum. DOW's resistance levels
are: 9885, 10012, 10169. DOW's support levels are: 9641, 9519,
9411. Nasdaq gained 18 points to close at 1933. Nasdaq appears
more strong than Dow and could see higher grounds in the next few
weeks. Watch 1950 level for resistance and 1900 for key support
levels. NASDAQ's resistance levels are: 1967, 2010, 2029. NASDAQ's
support levels are: 1898, 1852, 1832. Tuesday's trading could be
cautious and choppy ahead of Intel's earnings report
