    1. MORNING OUTLOOK

Pre-market futures are lower and suggesting that markets may
open flat to lower. European markets back-pedaled Monday,
led by technology stocks, with weaker U.S. and Japan stocks
and a strong euro contributing to losses. A weekend terror
attack in Turkey also contributed to market jitters. Tokyo's key
benchmark plunged almost 4 percent to end below the 10,000
level Monday as investors dumped banking, Internet and other
technology stocks following Wall Street's decline Friday,
terrorism jitters and worries that the yen's unrelenting rise
    could hurt Japanese exporters.

U.S. stocks posted losses Friday amid mediocre economic data and a
pullback in technology issues. The Dow Jones Industrial Average
edged down 69.26 points, or 0.70 percent, to 9,768.68. The Nasdaq
Composite edged down 37.09 points, or 1.89 percent, to 1,930.26
while the Nasdaq 100 Index edged down 32.36 points, or 2.35
percent, to 1407.51. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index edged down
0.76 percent while the Russell 2000 Index of small-capitalization
stocks edged down 1.57 percent. Volume amounted to 1.33 billion on
the NYSE and 1.83 billion on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Market
breadth was negative, with Decliners were leading Advancers by
1884 to 1344 on the NYSE. Nasdaq's Decliners were leading
    Advancers by 2148 to 1051.

Dow lost 69 points to close at 9768. Dow is trading with negative
momentum as it reversed its morning rush to 9900 level. Dow's 9900
level could provide further resistance and a break above that
level would signify strength in the next few weeks. Dow's Friday's
reversal is also a key reversal day. Watch for 9700 for further
support and 9820 level for breakout level. Dow could trade
side-ways until the lower end of its recent trading range (9650).
    . DOW's resistance levels are: 9890, 10017, 10173. DOW's support
levels are: 9646, 9523, 9415. Nasdaq lost 37 points to close at
1930. Nasdaq is trading with negative momentum and could see
further downward pressure in the next few sessions. NASDAQ's
    resistance levels are: 1939, 1969, 2014. NASDAQ's support levels
are: 1916, 1887, 1859. Monday's trading could be cautious and
    choppy.
