Agility ranks high as an ethical foreign government contractor - Kuwait
MENAFN Press - 07/05/2008 [-] Text [+]
(MENAFN Press) Agility, a leading global logistics provider, has the third highest ethical practices of foreign companies which are U.S. government contractors according to the Ethisphere Institute's 2008 Government Contractor Ethics Rankings. In addition, Agility out-ranked nine of the 25 largest U.S. government contractors.
Agility's ethics program scored higher than many larger and more well known global corporations such as GlaxoSmithKline, Rolls Royce and BP, the Boeing Corporation, the Bechtel Group, KBR, and the Northrop Grumman Corporation.
"Agility has a good ethics program that is a clear stand-out among its regional peers and many other international companies," says Robert Leffel, Ethisphere's Associate Director. "We were impressed by Agility's commitment to ethical business practices and, given the company's fast global growth, think that they have done remarkably well in such a short period of time."
The Ethisphere Institute's analysis of Agility's ethics program, noted that the Agility Code of Conduct, which received an A minus rating is significantly above standards in terms of meeting the spirit of the law.
Agility's ethics and compliance program is led by a Global Compliance Officer and reports directly to Agility's Chairman and Managing Director giving it prominence within the Company. In addition to the Agility Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Agility's compliance program involves a significant training and communication component, with a large number of employees receiving training on the Code of Conduct, US Government Procurement principles, and migrant worker rights in 2007.
Access a local phone number that connects to Agility's to an ethics hotline on a local number is available in 35 of Agility's largest operating countries, and a toll-free US-based number is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week in over 10 languages. Employees may also report concerns or issues via an email address, or by walking-in to the offices of the Compliance team around the world.
Michael Mills, Global Compliance Officer for Agility highlighted: "At Agility, "integrity" is the first of our four core corporate values and we continue to live that ethos everyday. It makes us proud to be ranked as a leader in ethics and compliance, especially among major global players and we look forward to growing and improving our program in the coming future."
