Smallpox Vaccine Bids :

The Dept of Health & Human Services may make a decision as early as Sunday or Monday on which companies may win a bid to make the smallpox vaccine. Sec Thomson said he is likely to choose one or more of the 3 co's bidding: GlaxoSmithKline (GSK 52.31), Merck (MRK 65.63), and Baxter (BAX 49.01), and has requested $509 mln from Congress to pay for 246 mln doses.

ستقوم ادارة الصحة باتخاذ قرار يوم الاحد او الاثنين وذلك باختيار واحدة او اكثر من الشركات الثلاث وذلك بتصنيع لقاح للجدري بحوالي نصف مليار دولار .

وهذه الشركات هي

BAX

وجميع هذه الشركات تنطبق عليها الشروط الشرعية

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A joint venture between Acambis NASDAQ: ACAM) and Baxter International Inc. (NYSE:BAX - news) won a U.S. government contract to produce 155 million doses of a smallpox vaccine, Health and Human Services (news - web sites) Secretary Tommy Thompson said on Wednesday.

The government will pay $428 million for the doses, which will help the United States bolster defenses against the potential bioterror weapon, Thompson told reporters during a telephone briefing.
